A recent research has found that young girls who spend too much time on the digital gadgets are less emotional as compared to those who do not do so. The research was conducted by the researchers from the Stanford institute.

For the research, as many as 3,461 girls in the age group of 8 to 12 years were surveyed. Moreover, the female subscribers of the Discovery Girls magazine were surveyed online. In the survey, the girls were asked to provide information as to how much time they spent over home work, music, reading, on social networking sites and on phone.

The results were devastating for the researchers. It was found that multitasking tend to increase the negative thinking of the girls. Spending too much time over the digital gadgets make them perceive a negative outlook towards the world.

The reason behind this is yet to be disclosed. The researchers said that high level of face to face communication improves soc ail bonding. When a girl is busy in texting, emailing and using social networking sites then the level of face to face communication drops which directly affects the perspective and the emotions of the girls.

The findings of the study have been published in the journal Developmental Psychology. While concluding the research, Nass, a researcher said, "When we media multitask, we're not really paying attention to the people around us . I may be hearing the words but I'm missing all the rich, critical, juicy stuff at the heart of emotional and social life".

The findings of the research have clearly stated that when kids communicate face to face then their emotional development is on a par. Therefore, the kids should be encouraged to indulge in face to face conversation rather than taking the help of digital gadgets for passing their thoughts to others.
