The DG Pet Issue: Justyce & May

What’s better than coming home from school and (yup!) playing with your pet?! Ohio Discovery Girl Justyce can count on her German Shephard, May, to…well…we’ll let her tell you herself!
“May can play hide and seek. After you count to 10, she’ll go into every room and sniff you out with her strong sense of smell. May is so special to me. She has attended some dog training and still whines a little when she wants attention, but she is a great dog, a great protector, and a great friend!”
What happens when you aren’t playing hide and seek with your pet, and it’s your pet that gets lost? Some of our readers told us about their “lost pet” experiences. Check it out:
“One day my friend and I were playing in the mud with my dog, Dakota. When it was time to clean up and go home, we started talking about school and forgot to grab her. Then, when we got home, we remembered her. We ran around freaking out because we could not find her anywhere! We both thought we had brought her home so we didn’t go back to the mud pile. We knocked on doors in the neighborhood asking about her and finally went back to the mud pile to retrace our steps. And there she was, sleeping under the shade of a tree, still covered in mud! We had told her to stay there before we had forgotten about her, and she had obeyed the command! Good dog, Dakota!”
“One day when I was really little, my cat Droste was missing. We couldn’t find her anywhere, and my mom put up signs all over the neighborhood. We were so worried about her! Then, the next day, my brother heard, ‘Meow!’ coming from upstairs. So he followed the noise. My cat had been in the closet with the door shut for over 24 hours! We figured she must have been resting in there when our housekeeper shut the door, not knowing she was inside!”
“When I was six years old I got my first cat, Missy. She was tiny, so we kept her in our computer room when we weren’t home. One day when I got home from school, I couldn’t find her anywhere, so I started searching everywhere I could think of and still couldn’t find her. I finally did find her sleeping under the covers on my bed! I’d already looked there but didn’t see her because she blended in with all of my stuffed animals!
Whew! We’re glad these pet stories all have happy endings…

Kitty Cat Door
Once when I came home from my dad’s house my cat was stuck inbetween the screen door and the wooden door! He was like that for 2 hours! When I got in the house my parents were so relieved. They couldn’t find him! My cat usuall likes to look out the screen door and my mom must have not known he was looking out the door so she shut the door on him! He was ok though! It never happened again!

Me and my dog huey like to play Dancing with the Stars! He is so good at it! I tell him the command ” Up!” and he jumps up and he puts his aws around me and we dance around the kitchen! And im not talking about some itty bitty puppy. Im talking about a 70 pound Collie on your sholders! Talk about a work out!

my dogs name is bleau and we play a lot of games together like tug of war and hide n seek and dancing. my dog will jump when i say jump and he will sometimes dance with me. when he sees me dancing he will come and go on his hind legs and dance.my dog will always follow you and protect me from people that don’t look fimilar and start barking and walk towards them. if he knows the people he will go after them and start licking them and playing around.when he sees me reading a magazine he will jump on the couch and paw at it until i read it or show it to him.he will always do that when i have my discovery girls magazine.when i say food or wanna eat he will come and sit on the floor and wait till i feed him.when you say give me kisses he will give you kisses.my dog loves it when we let him go for a walk even when we say walk ha will get so excited and wag his little tail and start to head for the door.my dog is an inch taller than me when he stands on his hind legs.he is about 78 pounds and im 76 pounds and i can hold him. he will come over and jump on you then lay down on you and sometimes knock you over.its fun having my dog like that hes a wiemerianer. i love him sooooooooooooooooooooooo

my coco lab addie is so sweet. Addie is on the small side for the breed of labs. she is only about 50 lbs. she loves belly rubs and she always gives me kisses when i get home from school. she also loves playing w/other dpgs. she also REALLY likes this boy yellow lab named charlie that lives next door…….

I really love Taffy
Taffy is my maltese she is 2 years old she is so cute she is white and fluffy .when i clap my hands she just like dances she jumps and moves her front legs up and down my friends say OMG she is so so cute or OMG do you train her to do that its cute its awesome.May is so beautifull but every owner loves her or his dog more than to other dogs. DOGZ RULE PD: do you preffer pokemon or digimon? I preffer pokemon my Favorite PKMN is PICHU. love TAMI -.-`

Smart dog
May must me soo smart. I have a puppy named Mikayla. She’s a boxer/black lab/collie mix. She’s 2 or 3 months old. I looked at this Iams puppy develpment thing and my dog is ahead! I hope I can train my puppy to play games like that! She can already climb up and down stairs and go down a slide. I LUV MY PUPPY!!!!!!!
Roof Cat
My cat, Will, often goes missing for short periods of time. but one day, my mom went upstairs, and she saw Will COMING IN FROM A WINDOW!!!! It turns out, he had been going upstairs, pushing open the window, and hanging out on the roof occasionally.

my cat,timmy is crazy!!!He goez after cat toys by jumping off the wall!timmy drinks milk out of a baby bottle.it sooo cute!!he once found a mouce in the bathroom and it somehow got in the tub and the mouse couldn’t get out so timmy chased it and chased it till we had to get the mouse out!!!!!!!!!!!hes a very fun cat!LOL

Once i walked out side to feed my doggy , Sadie. i called 5 times plus shook some food around. she didn’t come. Finally i gave up & told my folks. they told me she was 94 in dog years and losing her hearing!

Prince Zorro
I’ve got a dog that looks just like May. His name is Zorro. Hes a purebred! Hes is sooo sweet! I love him soo much! He isnt very obedient, but his really smart! He has such a good sense of smell!!
