The DG Pet Issue: Clara & Gator

Ohio Discovery Girl Clara has learned a lot from her yellow lab, Gator. And they’ve been through some tough times together, too…
“When we bought Gator he was four years old and he lived near a river. His owner at the time named him Gator because he loved to play around in the water. Since he had this name for a while we decided to keep it. Gator is a huge dog, but he is very gentle. He can shake hands, play fetch, and, of course, he loves to swim. Gator has taught me to be nice to everyone because Gator is always nice to everyone he sees. Gator and I both went through Hurricanes Katrina and Ivan together. Gator hates thunderstorms, so it was very hard for him to stay calm during the big storms. We stayed by his side so he wouldn’t flip out and go crazy, which is what he usually does. Instead he stayed calm, with a few whines here and there. Now he knows that I’m here for him, so he doesn’t go as crazy when a thunderstorm comes!”

Doggies alike!
Gator looks- and sounds- like a really awesome dog! I have a dog very simaliar to Gator, my labrador retriever mix Daisy. She’s a black dog- and sooooo CUTE!!! Plus, she has never bitten a single person since we’ve had her. Daisy was totally free- thanks to my aunt who found her running around inside a church! Then she called us over, and literally gave her to us!!! Of course, since Daisy has never bitten anybody, she loves every visitor- but first she absolutly HAS to sniff them… just in case. :)

Gator is so adorible. I’ve always wanted a dog, but I can’t have one. All dogs(well most dogs) are the cutest, cuddlyest, smartest animals (besides humans) in the world!
Gator!!!
Gator is sooo cute!! I love labs I have a lab/poodle mix dog called a labradoodle! And she reminds me of Gator. I can’t believe the fact though that he was in the hurricanes! Anyways, me and my dog Brownie were also in DG in the pet contest winners. I was Kimberly with Brownie!

I have a dog too, named zorro. a lot of people r scared of him. (Hes a german sheperd) but he is really nice!! I love him to death!!

OMG your dog is so adroble. I have a gearmon sheaperd puppy. His PAWS ARE HUGEI MEAN HUGE AS BIG AS MY HANDS BUT 2XS BIGGER. But hes still adroble his paws also make him look even cuter. I love your dog he reminds me of my dog Rambo. Sadly he died I miss him so much. But as I told you I got a know doy well puppy. See ya later.
Thunder
You and your dog went though Hurricane Katrina. You must be brave. I don’t know what my puppy thinks of thunderstomrs yet because she’s never seen one. She’ll probably bark all night! She is sooooooooooo cute!
