Ella's Web Diary!

I applied to be a Discovery Girl because I thought I had lots of wisdom to share with other girls! One day when I was reading my magazine, I turned it over and bam! There it was...the invitation to apply! I was pretty confident I'd be chosen...but nervous too.

It took me less than a week to fill out the questionnaire. And while I didn't particularly like it, it did make me examine myself, which is something I hadn't done in a long time! I was nervous but confident. When my friends and family found out I had made it in, they were happy and excited for me!

I was coming back from a trip and when I got home, my father said, "We have surprise for you!" He couldn't hold it in...I was a Discovery Girl! I was so excited and nothing could get the grin off my face.

To prepare for the Summit, I practiced posing with my aunt. She's a photographer and gave me some great tips. She also helped me pick out my profile outfit.

The trip to California was really long!  I live in South Carolina so that's all the way across the country for me! I was really excited, so that made it feel even longer. It was so fun to finally be there and so fun meeting girls from all over the US and Canada. I was surprised by how much we had in common!

I learned two different girls can become the best of friends. I became more open-minded after the Summit for sure. I enjoyed the behind the scenes shoot the most. I really liked the activity we were doing, which was designing dresses and clothes to wear!

The one thing that I remember most from the Summit is all the people I met. We fit so well together!
