Makes 8 servings.


  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups fresh basil or mint
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cups carbonated sparkling water


  1. Add all ingredients to list
  2. Bring 1 cup water to a boil in a saucepan.
  3. Stir the sugar and basil or mint into the water and return to a boil; cook at a boil for 10 minutes and immediately remove from heat.
  4. Chill in refrigerator until slightly cooled, about 10 minutes.
  5. Blend the blueberries, 1/2 cup water, and the lemon juice in a blender until smooth; pour into a pitcher.
  6. Remove the basil or mint leaves from the simple-syrup mixture and throw away.
  7. Stir the syrup into the blueberry mixture.
  8. Add the carbonated water to the mixture and stir gently.

PS. You can also pour into paper cups to make Ice Pops !

Clean up and you are ready to Enjoy!
