Some parents (just like some kids) have a hard time accepting that a girl and a boy can sincerely be BFFs. They think you must be going out, and may even try to put a stop to the friendship.

Frustrating? You bet…especially if you honestly don’t even have a crush on the guy! But instead of accusing your parents of being unfair, take a deep breath and remind yourself that they do have your best interests at heart.

Then, talk to them. Ask them what they’re worried about, and tell them what you like about him. What interests do you share? Does he always make you laugh? Does he give you good advice? Give them the chance to get to know him. If they see that he’s really a great kid, they’ll be much more likely to accept him

be honest

one thing to do is to casually mention him in conversations at the dinner table, or in the car. say good things about him, like if he told a funny joke, or is helping you with your homework. soon they’ll warm up to the idea of you guys being friends.

I have had many in elementary, I’m going into middle school soon so I know I will have a lot. I’m just easy to get along with, with guys and stuff.

Friends

I have many friends, and a few of them ARE boys, but I would consider them as ‘not so close’ friends. They joke around and laugh with me and include me into their activities, but my girl friends are closer to me.

I wish

So there is this guy I know and I love hanging out with him. He is so cool and a ton of fun to be around. But my bestie doesn’t approve because he’s made and is making some bad decisions in life. Plus my mom wont let me text him or chat over the internet! I just want to be friends with him and be there for him in any situation. I’m scared people will think I’m flirting…and I’m scared that I might me!

That would be terrible. I had a girl bff that had the same thing happen pretty much! She made some bad decisions in her life and was insecure. My parents didn’t approve of her! Don’t worry if people think your flirting. You know your not and your friends.

too much girl drama

At school, all of my grade hang out in the same area. but as most schools, girls have drama, and i’m not a fan of the drama, even though the girls can be my friends, so i step out of it, and hang out with the guys! i am friends with everybody, and guys are fun to hang with, they talk about sports, school, funny jokes etc. instead of talking about other girls! i think guys are better to hang out with, but its also good to have your close girlfriends too! :)

I think boys are better sometimes!! If your feeling girly (talking about make-up and crushes) then call your girlfriend. But if you wanna run around and maybe kick a ball or sit and watch a movie then call your guy-friend!! :P
